17th Annual Dissertation Awards

Applications are due no later than Tuesday, May 29, 2018. Please submit a complete set of the following application materials using MS Word (with file name extension docx, not doc) or PDF files. Documents must be submitted one at a time.

1. A letter indicating interest in the awards that includes your name, local address, UI office address if applicable, telephone number(s), e-mail address, department, date of dissertation proposal defense, and current status of the dissertation. In this letter please introduce yourself and say why you think your dissertation qualifies for this award. Please name this file using your last name_appl, followed by the appropriate Word or pdf file extension. Example: smith_appl.docx

2. A letter from your dissertation advisor/chair recommending your work for the award and verifying the date of the dissertation proposal defense. Please name this file using your last name_rcmd, followed by the appropriate Word or pdf file extension. Example: smith_rcmd.docx

3. A research description of no more than five (5) double-spaced pages: approximately two pages of introduction and theory, two pages on the methodology, and one page on the significance of the work. References do not count in this page limit. Please name this file using your last name_work, followed by the appropriate Word or pdf file extension. Example: smith_work.docx

4. Your current vita. Please name this file using your last name_vita, followed by the appropriate Word or pdf file extension. Example: smith_vita.pdf
