SRL is accepting applications for field interviewers for a project that will begin in August, 2018: The Urbana Community-Police Relation Study.

What will face-to-face interviewers do for this project?

This study aims to look at how police strategies affect community perception and experiences with the Urbana police. Interviewer will be responsible for canvassing neighborhoods in Urbana to promote the study and answer any question residents may have about the study.

What are the job requirements?

Those hired for this position must have...

  • Undergo a background check
  • Have a valid driver’s license
  • Have unrestricted use of an automobile
  • Have proof of auto liability insurance

What are the job demands?

  • Ability to carry and use a laptop computer
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends when respondents are available
  • Superb organizational skills
  • Meticulous record-keeping and documentation

What hours do interviewers need to work?

While interviewers are allowed to schedule their availability on a week to week basis, we do require:

  • A minimum of 20 hours per week
  • Availability on evenings/weekends

What does the job pay?

The rate is $14.83/hour; plus bonus if applicable. You are paid for time spent in trainings, time in travel to get to your interview destination, time spent canvassing, interviewing, and are reimbursed for mileage at the current state rate of $0.55/mile.
