| Searching for Rental Housing with Section 8 in the Chicago Region |
Authored by Susan Popkin and Mary Cunningham, this report describes the challenges of seeking housing with Section 8. At the request of The Urban Institute, SRL recruited participants from four populations (those issued a Section 8 voucher but who failed to find a housing unit, those who found a unit and are currently involved with the Section 8 program, those currently on the Section 8 waiting list, and current Chicago Housing Authority residents living in developments slated for demolition) and conducted focus groups.
